SaaS development

From idea to a platform you can charge for

A subscription product is mostly the parts customers never see: isolation between tenants, an auth model that holds up, a billing lifecycle that reconciles, and an admin surface that lets you operate without an engineer. We build that deliberately.

How a build is structured

Three phases, each ending with something usable

You get a working product at the end of every phase, not only at the end of the engagement.

  1. Phase 1 Typically 2–4 weeks

    Foundation

Tenant model, authentication, roles, database schema and the deployment pipeline. The goal is a real running application with a handful of users, not a prototype.

    • Multi-tenant data model and isolation rules
    • Auth, sessions and role-based permissions
    • Base deployment pipeline and environments
    • A walkthrough of the architecture you now own
  2. Phase 2 Typically 6–12 weeks

    Core product

The workflows that define the product, plus the operational surface: billing lifecycle, admin tooling, onboarding and the reporting you need to answer questions about customers.

    • Primary user workflows end to end
    • Subscription and billing lifecycle integration
    • Admin panel, audit log and usage reporting
    • Onboarding and trial handling
  3. Phase 3 Typically 3–6 weeks

    Launch

Hardening, load behaviour, monitoring, documentation and a controlled rollout. We leave you with a system your team can operate and change without us.

    • Monitoring, alerting and on-call documentation
    • Performance work against real traffic patterns
    • Full documentation and a handover session
    • A maintenance agreement if you want one
How we build

Four commitments

You own the code

Everything lives in your repository, under your organisation, with your licence. There is no proprietary runtime you have to keep paying us to access.

No artificial lock-in

We use established tools and documented services. If you ever want to take the project in-house, you can, because nothing we build depends on us to keep running.

Operational from day one

Monitoring, backups and access control are part of the foundation rather than something bolted on at the end.

Priced before it starts

Fixed scope for defined work, with a written specification. We tell you when something is out of scope instead of quietly expanding the budget.

Typical stack

Boring, proven choices

We default to technology with a long record of staying maintainable. Where you already have a preference or an existing platform, we use that instead.

  • TypeScript across front end and back end
  • Astro or a modern component framework for the front end
  • Postgres or an equivalent relational store
  • Cloudflare, AWS or your existing platform
  • OpenID Connect or your existing identity provider
  • Stripe or your existing billing provider
